Jake Carroll scored a brilliant free-kick to put the gloss on St. Patrick's comfortable passage through to the fourth round as they easily accounted for near neighbours Crumlin at Richmond Park.

Teenage left-back Carroll curled home a stunning free-kick on 66 minutes to add St. Pat's third goal.

St. Pat's went ahead on 16 minutes when central defender Brian Shortall stooped to head home Jordan Keegan's corner.

David McMillan added the second on 33 minutes with a fine side-foot volley from Anto Murphy cross from the right.

Any chance of a Crumlin revival ended on 56 minutes when striker Danny Loughran, a nephew of manager Martin, was shown a straight red card for a bad challenge on St. Pat's substitute Sean Stewart.
