Zayed foursome helps Derry pummel Galway

Eamon Zayed scored four times as Derry City consolidated third place in the table, inflicting a tenth league defeat on the spin on hapless bottom of the table Galway.

The game was all but over before Zayed even got his first in the final minute of the first half after strike partner Patrick Eleney, on 7mins, and midfielder James McClean, 17 minutes later, had put Derry 2-0 up.

Zayed then came into his own in the second half, netting his second on 74mins before completing his hat-trick from an 81st minute penalty. He then added his fourth of the night - and 11th of the season - in the second minute of stoppage time.
