Gaynor returns for Dundalk's visit to Sligo

Sligo Rovers and Dundalk go head-to-head in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at The Showgrounds, kick-off 7.45pm.

Rovers have no injury or suspension worries ahead of the visit of Dundalk.

The Bit o’ Red slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat against St Patrick’s Athletic last Thursday night but still remain second in the table, just two points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers.

Rovers boss Paul Cook said: “It was very disappointing. We didn’t play well. But have to move on now after that.

“The league has been very funny. We beat Bray a couple of weeks ago and did so without really breaking sweat. Now they have gone on to beat Shamrock Rovers and draw with Derry.

“Certain teams do well against certain teams. We have beaten Derry twice but lost to Shamrock Rovers twice.

“I think people have to accept that everyone is going to drop points.

“Dundalk are a very good side. We watched their win over Derry twice now and they did very well. They have good players that can hurt teams but we want to get back to winning ways.”

The Lilywhites visit the Showgrounds on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run in the league.

A home win against Derry City on Thursday emphasising the form that Ian Foster’s side have produced.

Dundalk are missing Daniel Kearns but Ross Gaynor returns to the squad.
