Duo out as Bohs bid to join Hoops at the top

League leaders Shamrock Rovers will be hoping to put their recent defeat to Bray behind them as they take on Bohemians at Tallaght Stadium, kick-off 8.05pm.

Michael O’Neill’s side were beaten 1-0 in Bray on Thursday but remain two points clear at the top of the table as they entertain arch rivals Bohemians.

Stephen Rice is suspended for the Hoops, having reached four yellow cards this season.

Otherwise, Hoops boss O’Neill has a full squad available to him.

O’Neill said: “The result against Bray was very disappointing for us, as was the performance to be honest.

“However, we have looked at that game, and have moved on to the Bohs fixture. It is the perfect game for us to have after Bray really, as all the lads will be fully up for it.

“Aside from Rice, we have a full squad to choose from. So we will be looking at what selection will most suit the game, and who I feel is right to face Bohemians.”

The Gypsies could draw level with the Hoops with the three points from this derby clash. The sides drew 1-1 in a thrilling game at Dalymount Park earlier this term.

Ollie Cahill and Mark Rossiter are each ruled out for Bohemians with hamstring problems.

Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon said: “We have got to try and win the game. We haven’t won up there and we’d like to do that and we’ll do our best to do that.

“We’re going to have seven or eight teenagers getting a taste of a real Dublin derby between ourselves and Rovers and with a big crowd. It’s something that will help them over the season and in their careers.”
