A second half brace from youngster Mark Griffin on his full league debut saw Dundalk bounce back superbly from their Setanta Sports Cup disappointment of last weekend.

In for the injured Jason Byrne, striker Griffin made his mark to finally bring the game at the UCD Bowl to life with the lead goal on 72 minutes, somewhat against the run of play.

Griffin, who had earlier headed against the bar, shot home after good work by Ross Gaynor.

The second came three minutes into added time. Substitute Keith Ward's free-kick came back off a post and Griffin reacted quickest to score from the rebound.
