Mjallby: Lennon 'in good mood'

Johan Mjallby insists Neil Lennon is “in a good mood” in the wake of the latest controversy to surround the Celtic boss.

Lennon was the subject of an attack by a fan during the 3-0 win against Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday night and a package containing what appeared to be a bullet was found at Celtic Park yesterday.

Lennon, who had a bullet sent to him earlier in the season, has had round-the-clock security since March 4, when the first of two parcel bombs addressed to him was intercepted at a Royal Mail sorting office.

Ahead of Sunday’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Motherwell at Celtic Park, where the Hoops could clinch the title if they get a better result than Rangers, who are at Kilmarnock, assistant boss Mjallby said: “He is in a good mood considering what he has been through.

“I think it is a bit disappointing that he has been in the limelight when it comes to matters outside football.

“Obviously he wants the team to be the main focus because they have been performing very well lately, especially on Wednesday, we were brilliant,

“And now we want to focus on the last two competitive games of the season, two very important ones. But he is in a good mood.”
