UCD face Galway United without injured quartet

UCD will be hoping to bounce back from their Derry drubbing when they entertain Galway United at the UCD Bowl tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Students were taught a lesson at the Brandywell on Friday night losing 7-0 to Stephen Kenny’s side.

UCD must plan without Michael Leahy who is missing with a shoulder injury, while Robbie Benson is also out with a hip concern.

Mark Langtry (calf) and Cillian Morrisson (ankle) are also missing from Martin Russell’s squad, while Ciaran Nangle is suspended following his red card in Derry.

UCD manager Martin Russell said: “The Derry result was extremely hard to take but it is great that we have a game so quickly after that defeat.

“The Galway United game will not be easy by any stretch of the imagination but it will give us the opportunity to go looking for another win.”

Galway are also looking to put Friday’s 3-0 defeat to Dundalk behind them and continue to operate without Gary Curran (broken metatarsal) and Joseph Yoffe (ankle).

Bobby Ryan remains a doubt as he recovers from a back injury injury, while Mikey Gilmore and Enda Curran are also doubtful.

United boss Sean Connor said: "It's a vital game. We have to close the gap on UCD. Ourselves, UCD and Drogheda are in a mini-league of our own. I've every confidence that these boys will survive the test and that we'll be a Premier Division team next year.”
