Three suspended for Derry
Derry City will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat on Monday when they take on UCD at the Brandywell tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Candystripes were beaten 3-0 by Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds and had three men sent off in what was a disappointing night for Stephen Kenny’s side.
As a result, Kevin Deery, Emmett Friars and Eddie McCallion will be susupended from the squad for the visit of the Students as they are all serving a suspension.
Barry Molloy is a doubt as he is struggling with ankle ligament damage, while Gareth McGlynn is recovering from a groin strain but may be fit enough to be involved.
Derry manager Stephen Kenny said: “I have never been involved in a game where three players have been sent off. We now have to regroup against UCD.
“They have had two straight wins so they have had a good week but hopefully we can put on a good performance.”
Cillian Morrisson remains out for UCD with an ankle injury, while Mark Langtry is also ruled out with a calf strain.
College boss Martin Russell said: “The Brandywell is always a challenging place for teams to go and Stephen Kenny will have his players ready to bounce back from their recent set back.
“We’re hopeful that we build on our recent good results and continue to move up the table.”
