Candystripes move up to second

First half goals from Gareth McGlynn and Eamon Zayed gave Derry a fully merited win over inconsistent Dundalk to move up to second in the Premier Division table tonight.

Winger McGlynn, who took the man-of-the-match gong, put the Candystripes in front on 32 minutes, firing home a pass from Patrick McEleney.

Three minutes later Zayed struck to double the lead from James McClean's assist.

The result sees Dundalk having lost all three of their away games in the league to date.
