McClean double seals it for Derry
Bray Wanderers 1 Derry City 2
James McClean claimed all three points for Derry as Bray were left to rue a dreadful miss by striker Conor Murphy.
Murphy headed wide of an open goal from Danny O'Connor's cross on 67 minutes.
Seven minutes later Derry midfielder McClean showed Murphy where the goal is as he powered his header from substitute Stephen McLaughlin's cross past Matt Gregg for the winner.
Gregg had been beaten for the first time on 22 minutes when Kevin Deery's free-kick picked out the unmarked Daniel Lafferty at the back post and the left-back headed home.
But Bray struck back to level five minutes before half-time. Skipper Gary Dempsey's free-kick was fired back across goal by Dane Massey and Jake Kelly shot past Ger Doherty in the Derry goal.
