Dillon double puts Sligo back on track

Goals in either half from winger John Dillon got Sligo back to winning ways at the Showgrounds.

Dillon struck for the opening goal as early as the fourth minute. Skipper Richie Ryan's shot saw Drogheda keeper David Quirke merely parry the ball into the path of Dillon who tapped home.

Quirke did well to keep Sligo out on 20 minutes with a penalty save from Alan Keane after Iarfhlaith Davoren was fouled by Gareth Whelan.

But Dillon's poaching skills were once again to the fore as he bagged Rovers' second goal on 68 minutes.

John Russell's drive came back off the Drogheda crossbar and Dillon was again first to the rebound to fire home.
