Opening night omens bad for Drogs

Just as they did in the opening game last season, UCD took all three points from Hunky Dorys Park as Drogheda look like they will struggle from the start.

Cillian Morrison was the Students hero when striking for the only goal of the game on 80 minutes.

Though they defended stoutly, Drogheda's debutant keeper David Quirke was much the busier throughout the game and the pressure finally told when Morrison forced home Ciaran Nangle's cross from the left.
