Sunderland midfielder Bolo Zenden is out of the club’s Premier League trip to Arsenal on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Dutchman has been ruled out of the game at the Emirates Stadium with after picking up a calf injury during the warm-up at Everton at the weekend.

He becomes the latest man to join manager Steve Bruce’s casualty list, which has cost him the services of Fraizer Campbell, Michael Turner, Lee Cattermole, Danny Welbeck, David Meyler and Nedum Onuoha in recent months.

However, Bruce is hoping that Zenden will be fit for Liverpool’s visit to the Stadium of Light on March 20 with the club’s exit from the FA Cup meaning they have no fixture during the previous weekend.
