Distillery’s former College keeper Billy Brennan sent his side home happy after keeping his former club at bay at Dalymount.

Despite having just two pre-season friendlies under their belt, UCD started well and ought to have been ahead at the break.

That opening arrived on 20 minutes when Brennan brilliantly turned away Graham Rusk’s header from a Darren Meenan free-kick.

UCD keeper Ger Barron had to make a couple of good stops mid-way through the second half from Glenn Ferguson headers.

But it was Brennan who had to excel again at the other end to touch Rusk’s chip onto the bar on 68 minutes.
