Friedel to make history against United

Brad Friedel will become the oldest player in Aston Villa history tonight as the midlands giants aim to continue their recent revival by overcoming Premier League leaders Manchester United.

Yet Friedel was not even the oldest player on view. That accolade goes to 40-year-old Edwin van der Sar, one of 10 changes from the United line-up that defeated Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday.
