Former Middlesbrough defender David Wheater could make his debut for Bolton on Monday against Chelsea after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Reebok Stadium.

Manager Owen Coyle is looking for his side to get back on track after a dip in form – they lost 2-0 at Stoke last weekend.

Striker Ivan Klasnic (groin) and full-back Gretar Steinsson (knee) are doubtful through injury while Lee Chung-yong is on international duty at the Asian Cup with South Korea.
