Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed defender David Wheater is on the verge of sealing his return to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed defender David Wheater is on the verge of sealing his return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, was left out of the side for yesterday’s FA Cup defeat by Burton because he is in talks over a move, with Bolton believed to be his destination.
