Freiburg agree Ferati deal

Bundesliga side Freiburg have agreed to sign Swiss defender Beg Ferati from nearby FC Basle for next season.

The 24-year-old impressed during the Swiss side’s ill-fated Champions League campaign this season and will make the short move across the border in July for an undisclosed fee.

“Beg Ferati is a young, experienced professional,” Freiburg’s director of sport Dirk Dufner told the club website. “He will strengthen the centre of our defence. Beg is the kind of player who fits in with our philosophy.”

The Kosovo-born former Switzerland Under-21 international has played a total of 51 games for defending Swiss Super League champions Basle after joining them as a 19-year-old.
