Baggies hoping for Cech boost

West Brom are hopeful left-back Marek Cech will have recovered from a shin injury in time for tomorrow’s FA Cup third-round tie at Reading.

Cech has had a scan on the affected area and it has revealed no serious damage.

Right-back Steven Reid will definitely be unavailable after undergoing a knee operation yesterday while the Baggies will also monitor the fitness of leading scorer Peter Odemwingie who is struggling with a swollen ankle.

Gabriel Tamas will serve the final game of a three-match suspension but fellow defender Paul Scharner has recovered from illness.
