New Blackburn manager Steve Kean today insisted “exciting times” lie ahead for the club but admitted captain Christopher Samba’s future at Rovers is in doubt.

The former first-team coach was given the job until the end of the season yesterday after a brief trip to India to meet executives of the club’s owners, Venky’s, but returned to headlines declaring Samba’s intention to leave Ewood Park.
