Striker Fernando Torres starts his first Europa League match of the season tonight as manager Roy Hodgson names his strongest available side to face Utrecht at the Station Galgenwaard.

With Paul Konchesky and Daniel Agger injured and Steven Gerrard left at home to rest, Hodgson has made only the changes he had to from the team which drew with Sunderland on Saturday.

Martin Kelly comes in as a makeshift left-back, with Lucas Leiva returning in central midfield.

Utrecht, who have won all six matches at home in all competitions this season, have looked to striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel for inspiration.

The 21-year-old has scored six goals in six European matches already this season and seven times in as many games in the Eredivisie.
