Agbonlahor making progress, Dunne out

Aston Villa skipper Gabriel Agbonlahor is winning his battle to be fit for Sunday’s Barclays Premier League derby with Wolves at Molineux.

Aston Villa skipper Gabriel Agbonlahor is winning his battle to be fit for Sunday’s Barclays Premier League derby with Wolves at Molineux, but defender Richard Dunne is again ruled out with a knee injury.

Agbonlahor was substituted during the first half of Wednesday’s Carling Cup win over Blackburn with tight calves but has resumed training.

Manager Gerard Houllier is optimistic Dunne will be fit to return against Tottenham next weekend.

Midfielder Stephen Ireland is also making good progress after suffering a dead leg in training ahead of the meeting with Sam Allardyce’s side.
