Toffees boosted by Neville return

Phil Neville makes his return to the Everton starting line-up as David Moyes’ side look to kick-start their faltering season with a victory in the third round of the Carling Cup at Brentford.

Toffees skipper Neville has overcome a foot injury to make a side that also includes a first start for Yakubu, who has been struggling for fitness since his World Cup exploits with Nigeria.

Seamus Coleman and Magaye Gueye are given a chance to impress for the visitors, while Richard Lee replaces Ben Hamer in goal for Brentford as manager Andy Scott makes only one change from Saturday’s draw against Hartlepool.
