Carroll expected to be fit for Newcastle

Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League visit to Everton.

Striker Andy Carroll continues to battle against his ankle injury, but is expected to be fit, while Sol Campbell is approaching full match fitness after a third appearance for the reserves last night.

Hatem Ben Arfa made his debut as a substitute in last weekend’s 2-0 home defeat by Blackpool and will hope for further action.

Long-term absentees Danny Guthrie (knee), Danny Simpson (ankle) and Steven Taylor (shoulder) are making progress, but Dan Gosling (knee) and Leon Best (ankle) are still out.

Squad (from): Harper, Krul, Perch, R Taylor, Enrique, Coloccini, Williamson, Campbell, Kadar, Smith, Tiote, Barton, Routledge, Gutierrez, Ben Arfa, Vuckic, Nolan, Carroll, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Ranger.
