Trap keeps faith in Armenian XV

Republic of Ireland v Andorra

Giovanni Trapattoni entrusted the quest for another three Euro 2012 qualifying points against Andorra to the men who started Friday night’s victory in Armenia.

The Republic of Ireland boss kept faith with Derby midfielder Paul Green, who endured a difficult first 45 minutes in Yerevan, while match-winner Keith Fahey had to make do with a place on the bench once again.

There was a place too for skipper Robbie Keane after he passed up several opportunities to add to his 43 goals for his country against the Armenians, but he did score a hat-trick in the last competitive international played at the newly-rebuilt and renamed Aviva Stadium.

Andorra skipper Ildefons Lima returned with find memories of the former Lansdowne Road having given Andorra a shock lead there in April 2001 before the home side hit back to win 3-1.
