St. Patrick's wasted a chance to stay in touch with leaders Shamrock Rovers as they conceded a second half equaliser at Terryland Park to drift seven points behind ahead of the top of the table clash with the Hoops at Richmond Park next week.

American striker Ryan Guy put Saints in front on 12 minutes, his right-foot shot finding the net from Garreth O'Connor's cross.

But Galway, out of sorts in the first half, hit back after the interval when defender Philip Reilly scrambled home Tom Kings' cross on 68 minutes.
