Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is set to revert to the side which has made an impressive start to the Barclays Premier League campaign for Saturday’s home clash with Newcastle.

McCarthy made 10 changes for the mid-week Carling Cup success over Southend at Molineux.

But he said: “All the players from the Southend game are in the squad but, if you are asking my line-up, they won’t be starting. The team that beat Stoke and drew at Everton warrant starting – certainly most of them.”

It means Michael Mancienne, signed for a third loan spell from Chelsea, is likely to be amongst the substitutes. Defender Ronald Zubar is pushing for a recall after recovering from injury.

Provisional squad: Hahnemann, Foley, Craddock, Berra, Ward, Jarvis, Henry, Jones, Van Damme, Ebanks-Blake, Doyle. Subs (from): Zubar, Fletcher, Elokobi, Stearman, Halford, Milijas, Guedioura, Edwards, Mujangi, Bia, Hennessey, Mancienne.
