Cretaro out for Bohs FAI Cup game

Bohemians take on old rivals Shelbourne at Dalymount Park tonight for a place in the quarter-finals of this season’s FAI Ford Cup, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Gypsies will be without long-term injury victims Anto Murphy and Stephen Gray who remain out with Achilles problems.

Raffaele Cretaro is expected to miss the game with a hip injury, while Paul Keegan will assessed be over a slight groin problem but is expected to be fit.

Bohs boss Pat Fenlon said: “It’s really the first big competitive game against them since I left there. I had great years there as a player and a manager and I’m looking forward to them coming to Dalymount.

“I saw them recently in the Leinster Cup final. They are a decent side and Alan Mathews has done a lot of work with them. They are playing a bit differently now to when Dermot [Keely] was there. We’re expecting a tough game. Coming here they’ll obviously be looking to enjoy the occasion too.”

Mick Coburn misses out for Shels through suspension, however, Sean Byrne returns after being suspended for the Wexford league game.

David Cassidy is set to miss out through injury after limping off after 67 minutes against the Youths on Sunday.

Shelbourne boss Alan Mathews said: “It will be a difficult challenge. If you do your work right and approach the game in a positive way, it’s a fair game.

“There is absolutely no reason why any side can’t get a result against any other side, from any division. We need to be organised. We need to show a good appetite for the game, which we will, and anything can happen.”
