Huddersfield have completed the signing of striker Alan Lee from Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee.

The 32-year-old former Republic of Ireland targetman passed a medical with the Terriers yesterday and has penned a two-year deal.

So far this season, Lee has scored two goals in four appearances for cash-strapped npower Championship outfit Palace.

Town boss Lee Clark told the club’s official website, www.htafc.co.uk: “We have been looking for a different type of striker to compliment the others we already have at the club, so I’m really happy with this acquisition.

“Alan will take the load off the younger strikers, who have done brilliantly.

“It’s really tough up there given some of the defenders you come up against and now they have someone alongside them.”

Lee added: “The size and ambition of the club appeals to me, as well as Lee Clark and the experienced backroom staff here. That experience is very, very impressive.”
