Elliott set for Hearts bow

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies hopes to hand a debut to new Republic of Ireland striker Stephen Elliott in tomorrow's Clydesdale Bank Premier League curtain-raiser against St Johnstone.

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies hopes to hand a debut to new Republic of Ireland striker Stephen Elliott in tomorrow's Clydesdale Bank Premier League curtain-raiser against St Johnstone.

The former Preston marksman is set to be included in the squad and could feature alongside fellow summer recruit Kevin Kyle, who has recovered from groin surgery.

Hearts are without suspended trio Eggert Jonsson, Ismael Bouzid and Ryan Stevenson, while David Obua (groin), Andy Driver (knee) and Gary Glen (hamstring) are sidelined.
