Gary Hooper arrived at Celtic Park today to finalise his transfer from Scunthorpe.

The 22-year-old striker, who has scored 50 goals in two seasons for the Iron, looks set to complete a move worth around £2m.

Hooper left Parkhead to undergo a medical and will sign for the club this afternoon barring complications.

The forward could come into contention for the first leg of Celtic’s Champions League third qualifying round clash against Sporting Braga on Wednesday.

Celtic are able to add one player to their Champions League squad for the match in Portugal up to 24 hours before kick-off.

The club finally completed the signing of Efrain Juarez this morning but the Mexico international had already been registered with UEFA.

Juarez, who has signed a four-year deal, will be officially unveiled this afternoon at a Celtic Park press conference.

The 22-year-old, who starred for his country at the World Cup, joins Charlie Mulgrew, Cha Du-Ri, Joe Ledley and Daryl Murphy in signing for Neil Lennon’s new-look Celtic this summer.

Lennon has confirmed that Celtic are also close to a deal to bring Israel and Maccabi Haifa midfielder Biram Kayal to Parkhead.

England goalkeeper David James is now not expected in Glasgow for talks until later in the week.
