Ruthless Pats batter Dundalk

Dave Mulcahy scored twice with his first league goals of the season, as St. Pat’s inflicted another heavy defeat on Dundalk at Oriel Park to stay second in the table.

Beaten 4-0 at Shamrock Rovers last weekend, and tanked 6-0 in Sofia by Levski midweek, Dundalk were 2-0 down inside 18mins.

The opener on six minutes was simplicity itself as midfielder Mulcahy wasn’t picked up from Derek Doyle’s corner and he header past Peter Cherrie.

The defending was scarcely any better as Mulcahy again headed to the net after Ryan Guy’s long throw was flicked on.

Central defender Conor Kenna added a third goal six minutes into the second half when stooping to head home from skipper Damian Lynch’s free-kick.
