Win sends Bohs up to second spot

In-form striker Paddy Madden led the charge as champions Bohemians moved up to second place in the table with this convincing win over fading Dundalk.

Madden, who'd scored a hat-trick and a double in his previous two appearances, struck for the lead five minutes into the second half when turning to shoot past Matt Gregg from Aaron Greene's cross.

Ex-Derry midfielders Ruaidhri Higgins and Gareth McGlynn then rowed in with a couple of late goals to put the gloss on Bohs win.

Dundalk substitute Michael McGowan was sent off on 81 minutes, 30 seconds after coming on.

Four minutes later Higgins scored directly from a free-kick to make it 2-0. McGlynn then scored a brilliant solo goal two minutes from time.
