Reid: Trap was not a candidate for Celtic job

Celtic chairman John Reid strenuously denied Giovanni Trapattoni or anyone else had been sounded out about the manager’s job at Parkhead before insisting Neil Lennon was the only credible candidate.

Lennon was finally confirmed as boss at a media conference at Parkhead this morning after an interim spell as manager following the departure of Tony Mowbray in March.
