Sligo progress with win over Athlone

Given Sligo's recent goalscoring feat at the Showgrounds, Athlone trooped home relatively pleased with this narrow defeat.

Sligo, who have scored 21 goals in their last four home games, had to settle for the only goal of this game a minute after the break when John Dillon scored with a simple tap-in.

Athlone rallied and Rovers' keeper Richard Brush made a super save before both Austin Skelly and Stephen Place had late chances to level for Athlone.
