Ireland and Paraguay ready for the off
Keiren Westwood was handed his fourth senior cap as the Republic of Ireland entertained World Cup finals-bound Paraguay at the RDS.
The Coventry keeper took over from the injured Shay Given as manager Giovanni Trapattoni fielded a strong side with Stephen Kelly starting at right-back, John O’Shea on the left and Paul McShane partnering Sean St Ledger in the middle.
Liam Lawrence joined Glenn Whelan, Keith Andrews and Damien Duff in midfield with Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle ahead of them.
Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino named Sunderland new boy Cristian Riveros and club-mate Paulo da Silva in his starting line-up with Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz also in the team.
