The sides swapped four goals in a hectic first half of an entertaining clash at Terryland Park.

UCD had the dream start of the lead goal after just four minutes.

Galway skipper and keeper Barry Ryan could only parry a shot from Ciaran Kilduff and McMillan reacted quickest to scoop home the rebound.

But Galway hit back on 19 minutes when Rhys Meynell’s cross was flicked home off the head of Anto Flood.

Stephen O'Donnell then shot Galway in front from a 36th minute penalty after UCD skipper Evan McMillan had handled.

College levelled through Chris Mulhall two minutes before the break when he punished a bad mistake by goalkeeper Barry Ryan to rob him of the ball and walk it into the net.
