McClaren tipped for Wolfsburg job
Wolfsburg are expected to announce their new manager today with former England boss Steve McClaren widely tipped to take over at the Volkswagen Arena.
McClaren led FC Twente to the Dutch title in the recently-completed Eredivisie season and is thought to have held extensive talks with Wolfsburg over the weekend.
The local Wolfsburg Allgemeine newspaper reported today that McClaren had verbally agreed a deal with the club who were deposed as Bundesliga champions at the weekend by Bayern Munich.
A formal announcement is expected today which would give 49-year-old McClaren the chance to build his reputation further after a dismal spell in charge of England which saw the country miss out on the finals of Euro 2008.
At Wolfsburg he will have the chance to work with the likes of Grafite and Edin Dzeko, whose goals took the Wolves to the 2009 title.
