Galway United travel to Tallaght Stadium tonight to take on Shamrock Rovers in the Airtricity League Premier Division, kick-off 8pm.

Stephen O'Donnell, Bobby Ryan and Anto Flood are likely to return to the Galway squad after missing Tuesday's draw with Sligo.

United boss Sean Connor said: “With two clean sheets we are very pleased with how we are performing. The team have come together brilliantly and I am proud of how hard they are training and the commitment given.

“We will be expecting a tough challenge when we take on Shamrock Rovers but we will remain positive and I am confident my team will display the same determination as they have over the last few weeks.”

Pat Sullivan (knee) remains sidelined for the Hoops, while there are also doubts about the fitness of Tommy Stewart (thigh) and Chris Turner (ankle). But Hoops boss Michael O’Neill is hopeful of having Craig Sives back in his squad for the game.

James Chambers is suspended following the red card that he received at Oriel Park on Monday evening.

O’Neill said: “Galway are having a good season so far, and pulled off one of the biggest results of the league so far when they beat Bohemians 3-2 in Dalymount in April.

“That win, coupled with some other good results, means we will be in for a tough battle on the pitch tonight.

“But our squad is in a much better shape at the moment, after getting a few lads back from injury, so we’ll be looking to get the home win.”
