Wayne Rooney vowed he would be fit for the World Cup after landing the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year award last night.

Wayne Rooney vowed he would be fit for the World Cup after landing the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year award last night.

The Manchester United striker gave England coach Fabio Capello a scare when he missed Saturday’s 3-1 Barclays Premier League victory over Tottenham because of a groin injury.
