St Pat's stay top after ending Sligo's good run

A David McAllister goal kept St. Pat’s top of the table on goal difference as they ended Sligo's unbeaten league start.

Rovers' new signing, ex-Saint Joseph Ndo, came straight into the side and almost announced his arrival with a goal as he rifled over the bar on 15 minutes.

Paul Byrne then brought the best out of Rovers' keeper Richard Brush at the other end in an even first half.

But Saints got what proved the only goal of the night against the run of play on 57 minutes when midfielder McAllister let fly from outside the box to beat Brush.
