Boyce could return for Wigan

Emmerson Boyce is close to a return after missing Wigan’s last three games with a range of injury problems instigated by a back issue.

Boyce has joined in the last two training sessions and will be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League clash with Portsmouth at the DW Stadium.

Hendry Thomas is rated as 50/50 by boss Roberto Martinez due to a quad injury which saw him miss the defeat at Fulham nine days ago, while Gary Caldwell serves the second of a three-game suspension.
