St. Pat’s stay top of the table after a battling display on the plastic pitch at Oriel Park.

Tom Miller wasted the best chance of the first half for Dundalk on 15 minutes while Saints' midfielder Dave Mulcahy was lucky to stay on the field for a bad tackle on Shaun Kelly ten minutes later.

Dundalk assistant player/manager Wayne Hatswell had a header saved by Gary Rogers in a much better second half.

Alex Williams then almost won it for Saints, against his former club, but for a terrific late stop from Peter Cherrie.
