Birmingham midfielder Barry Ferguson is on course to be fit for tomorrow’s home Barclays Premier League clash with Wigan.

The Scot suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Fulham and limped off in the closing stages, but boss Alex McLeish is confident Ferguson will have recovered in time for the meeting with the Latics.

McLeish has to decide whether to give another run-out up front to James McFadden in preference to Christian Benitez who was axed for the game at Craven Cottage.

Provisional squad: Hart, Carr, Dann, Johnson, Ridgewell, Larsson, Bowyer, Ferguson, Fahey, McFadden, Jerome, Gardner, Michel, Phillips, Taylor, Benitez, Parnaby, Vignal.
