Aston Villa’s teenage striker Andreas Weimann has signed a contract extension with the midlands club.

Weimann, the reserve team’s top scorer with five goals this season, has put pen to paper on a deal which will take him through to the summer of 2012.

He has yet to make a competitive appearance for the senior side but did play in the pre-season Peace Cup final against Juventus in Spain and also came off the bench against FC Porto and Atalante earlier in the tournament.

The 18-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks at Villa, scored in a 3-0 victory over Peterborough in a pre-season friendly at London Road.
