Burnley manager Owen Coyle believes former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes was harshly treated by the club but insists new boss Roberto Mancini must now be given a chance to succeed.

The manner in which Hughes was sacked – after City’s 4-3 victory over Sunderland on Saturday – was controversial, especially with the side sixth in the Barclays Premier League and in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.
