Chamakh doubtful for Juve clash

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh is a major doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus after sustaining an abdomen injury at the weekend.

The 25-year-old Moroccan was substituted after 17 minutes of Les Girondins’ 1-0 home defeat to Valenciennes on Saturday and spent yesterday undergoing tests to ascertain the severity of the problem.

He was diagnosed with “a small lesion of the right oblique”, the club’s medical staff reported to L’Equipe, and could join Yoann Gourcuff (groin) and Henrique (knee) on the sidelines. Jussie (hip) and Franck Jurietti (gastro-enteritis) are also doubtful.
