Former Ireland manager Brian Kerr says it was unrealistic to think we would get a replay of Wednesday's controversial World Cup play-off against France.

FIFA and the French Football Federation have turned down requests from the FAI to stage the game again following the French extra-time goal that followed a handball by Thierry Henry.

This afternoon a group, which has more than 250,000 members on Facebook, will march from Lansdowne Road at 2pm to the French Embassy.

Brian Kerr said it was time to move on despite the bitter disappointment. He said: "It was ridiculous to think that the game might be replayed..(though) I sympathise fully with the team."
