Second half goals from James Chambers and Brian King secured Drogheda United’s Premier Division status, as they deservedly beat Bray Wanderers at United Park.

Sporting Fingal now await Bray in the two-legged play-off decider.

A John Mulroy foul on Eric McGill was clinically punished on the hour mark when Chambers rifled the resultant free-kick past Chris O’Connor to give Drogs the lead.

Fellow midfielder King reacted quickest to drill home after Ross Gaynor’s shot came back off the woodwork for the clinching second goal ten minutes from time.

A bad night for Bray was compounded when Mulroy was sent off in the 83rd minute for a second bookable offence.
