Ribery out of France qualifiers

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has pulled out of the France squad for their crunch World Cup qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Austria.

The 26-year-old, who has injured his left knee, has not been replaced in Raymond Domenech’s 24-man squad.

France face the Faroe Islands on October 10 at Guingamp before meeting Austria at Saint-Denis four days later.

Les Bleus are second in Group 7, four points behind Serbia and four ahead of Austria.
